106th Regiment - Philadelphia BrigadeRecruited in the City of Philadelphia, PA. The majority of the volunteer enlistees of the 72nd Pennsylvania Volunteers were Philadelphia Firemen. Along with the 69th, 71st and 72nd, the 106th formed the famed Philadelphia Brigade which helped defend against Pickett's Charge in the Battle of Gettysburg.
